WORKSHOPS – THURSDAY 27 APRIL 2023 – 10.00 – 12.00

New for 2023: Three exciting workshops exploring three core issues for smaller, regional airports

By joining us at RACE ‘23, you’ll have instant access to three bespoke workshops which get right to the heart of some the biggest challenges facing smaller and regional airports across Europe.

In a brand new format, we’ve listened to our airport members’ request for more practical working sessions, and will host our second conference day in three concurrent workshop strands. Bringing industry experts as our session leaders and moderators, each two hour session will combine case studies from airports, panel discussion and interactive debate for tangible take-aways.

Route development: Trends and Best Practices for Regional Airports

Our renowned session leader for the workshop on Route Development is George Karamanos, Managing Director of KPI Aviation Marketing Solutions.  George is a visionary executive with 20 years of international experience in aviation across Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

His session will concentrate on five main areas as he explores the challenge of Route Development with his guests

  • The challenges and opportunities in route development
  • The right data sources to help to build the airport business case
  • Co-marketing activities with airlines versus incentives
  • The creativity of other stakeholders’ joint-support activities
  • Is it time for leisure-driven airports to pass route development responsibility to the local tourism authorities?
