Visit the beautiful town of Monreale, 8km southwest of Palermo and discover its Cathedral, one of the greatest examples of Norman architecture in the world, built between 1174 and 1176. One the world’s largest and most interesting mosaic covered surfaces can be admired in the Cathedral. Adjacent to the Cathedral is the entrance to the Cloister, a courtyard with elegant Romanesque arches supported by 228 slender columns combined, all richly decorated and with capitals inlaid with plant, animal and fictional motifs.

Accompanying guests will be offered the opportunity to visit the most famous monument of Bagheria (town very close to Palermo), Villa Palagonia, known as the Villa dei Mostri (Monster Villa) magnificient and eccentric, during the 18th century it become the destination of the Grand Tour Travellers and it was known as the “most original place of the world”. Its walls are decorated with grotesque statues reproducing ugly monsters, antropomorphous figures, dragons, snakes and scary animals, knights, dames and various caricatures. Particularly famous is the Room of the Mirrors, with its marble walls and decorations.

Walking tour through the Baroque Palermo: at the beginning of the 17th century, a large road intersection was built right in the center of the city, known as the Quattro Canti “ Four Corners” of the City. Along these roads, the aristocracy of Palermo erected its magnificient Palaces. Not to be missed the church of Santa Caterina and 2 oratories, San Domenico and Santa Caterina with the decorations and the sculptures of Giacomo Serpotta.
