PALERMO FALCONE BORSELLINO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT is located in the north-western part of Sicily, it is around 30 km far from the city center of Palermo, the capital city of the Region/island, which is easily accessible by the highway, bus, taxi and by train.

The Airport’s structure is developed in a three levels Terminal, that faces both the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea. Palermo Airport is the only airport in South Italy with a qualified infrastructure able to host wide body A/C thanks, to its two runways recently renewed. In the very near future the Airport will see the refurbishment of the Terminal, that will allows the enlargement (around some additional 10.000 sq. mt. total) of both operational and commercial areas, with the restyling of some facilities, with the aim to offer a better level of services to the passengers and provide more qualitative and efficient performances to airlines.

The Airport welcomed over 6.6 million passengers in 2018 achieving the highest growth ever (14,8%) and today, is ranked as the 09th largest airport in Italy for passengers traffic.

Since the past five years Palermo has been growing more than the Italian average Traffic growth, especially doubling it in 2018 . In the current Year 2019 Palermo is running around the 7% traffic growth compared to the previous year and it is expected to go over 7 mln at the end of the year. From Palermo you can directly reach up to 107 destinations ( Summer 2019)  and, from May 21st 2020 onwards, there will be also an Intercontinental daily flight operated by United Airlines’ from/to New York EWR airport, that will even better qualify and enrich the existing destination network offered by the 31 partner airlines which currently operate regularly at Palermo airport.
